STAGE1 TERM1
ARTIST'S STUDIO INTRODUCTION PROJECT

PORT DUNDAS, GLASGOW

Our first building project was based on "parrallel planes" and how we could compose space within a restricted volume.

The brief was to design a studio for an artist on a quayside in a run-down Glasgow brownfield site. The programme had to include space to exhibit work and an eating area as well as enough room to produce large format artwork.

My design works with contrasting treatments of space and surface to produce suitable environments for each activity. The absence of colour works to provide the artist with freedom in how they can adjust the environment to suit their creative needs.
